Ajit Anmol Director- Rishi Kapoor Producer- Farhan Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra Bollywood actor- Amitabh Bachchan Singer- Udit Narayan A Hindi comedy drama film written and directed by R.Kapoor starring Shah Rukh Khan in his last screen appearance before retirement. It stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead role with Amitabh Bachchan who essayed the role of a retired superstar of Bollywood . The movie was produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film revolves around the story of Amitabh Bachchan, who searches for his long lost son Farhan (played by Khan) who goes missing in Bangkok where he has gone to fulfill a promise to his family. After much searching, Amitabh Bachchan eventually finds Farhan near the US Embassy in Bangkok where he decides to follow him like a lost puppy. The film sets out with Bachchan’s journey from Bangkok, across Thailand and Malaysia back to Bangkok pursued by two cops- played by Sachin Khedekar and Ashish Vidyarthi. This film has a mixture of drama and comedy.The film was a box office hit upon its release, and a few days after its release, Sony Music decided to release the soundtrack album on audiocassette instead of the regular LP format. This approach caused an uproar from Bollywood listeners who were used to getting their favourite songs as video albums. In order to resolve this issue, Sony Music released another music album titled "Aap Ke Sanam", which was a collection of popular songs from other films starring Amitabh Bachchan, all re-recorded by Udit Narayan as well as his own composition for this film. This album was released on LP record instead of audiocassette due to the demand of Bollywood music listeners. "Aap Ke Sanam" , released in 1995, was the only duet composed by Udit Narayan for this film. The popular songs "Mere Sapnon Ki Rani" and "Saiyan Bole So Nihaal" were also re-recorded by Udit Narayan for this album. The lyrics of all songs are written by Sameer. The first song for the film, "Mere Sapnon Ki Rani", is a re-recording of one of Udit's previous compositions from Aditya Chopra's production "Parampara". This is a love story sung once again by Udit Narayan and Leela Naidu in a unique setting, with Shammi Kapoor's son, Akshay Kumar featured as the playback singer. After the music of Aap Ke Sanam became a hit itself, it was followed up by Sony Music's "Rahul" in 1996. This album had no hit songs but even without any superhit songs, "Rahul" proved to be another profitable venture for Sony Music. The lyrics of all songs are written by Sameer. A bonus track from this album was "Iski Wajah Se Ban Jaaoge", a popular song from R. cfa1e77820
